As for "The Believing Child", what woman will marry a man in whom she does not believe?

What person will accept as a friend another in whom he or she does not believe?

Something in such relationships has caused one or the other or perhaps both of the parties to trust or have faith in the other!

In the same fashion, what person will accept as a protecting and providing Creator and Lord God a Supreme Being whom he or she does not trust or in whom he or she does not believe?

On the other side of that coin, what God will protect or provide for a child who does not believe that such protection or provision exists or that there is a God who provides such blessings?

Even the tyrant asks for the allegiance of a subject before he or she will provide anything in the subject's behalf, leaving those who refuse that allegiance to die in their lack of anything by which to sustain themselves.

We observe in nature with certain exceptions that even the poorest of creatures sustain their young, the fact of life on Earth usually being that without that loving care the young die! So within us lies an inherent sense of need for the sustainer - the father or mother who can and does sustain the Child and, ultimately, the Supreme Being or Creator of All who does that for each specie of life that he has created and put on Earth!

It has been demonstrated, time and again, that, without hope for that which satisfies, one dies! And the same truth is self evident, in the question, What person will strive to live who does not believe that he or she will be rewarded for the effort?

That question demands another question, What person lives who does not strive to live, who simply lies down and leaves himself or herself subject to the forces of destruction, which surely come to those who are careless?

Despite further efforts, the death of physical life inevitably comes upon all who for a time have been granted the gift of life! But, while one is being granted that life, living or dying is a choice, which is either exercised or rejected by the will of the living!

No truth is more evident than the critical part of hope or faith to those who daily work among others who have been compromised or threatened by difficult circumstances, whether of poverty, illness or disability of one kind or an other! Those who believe overcome! And those who do not believe leave themselves to the destruction of unbelief!

For months on end I have labored with the mentality of an atheist, who, for one reason or an other has not rejected the idea that God, a Supreme Being or a Creator of All, is! So he claims! But he may as well have rejected the idea of God's existence: for he has accepted the fatal idea that any communication from God is non-existent: "He won't talk to me!"

Such a conclusion is a failure to realize the extent to which one's thoughts are the voice of God; and it is the tragic belief that the claims of a Bible written by spokesmen of God, whether they are prophets, the Son of God or his apostles, are not to be trusted!

Equally damning is the notion that God does not know what he is doing, that the unbelieving observer is sufficiently wise to Judge as incompetent the one who has created the universe and all the amazing complexity of the life in it, not one living cell of which the self-appointed judge of God can by his own efforts create!

Such staggering arrogance includes one's rejection of God's covenant of commandments to be obeyed coupled with his supernatural rewards for the obedient, so that all efforts made by the atheist and the rewards for those efforts are limited by what he is able to do for himself, there being, in his corrupted mind, no such thing as exttraordinary rewards for those who believe in a punishing and rewarding God!

For the atheist, the universe exploded into being from out of nothing, without intelligent design on the part of an all wise God! So the unbeliever must accept that he or she is, merely, part of the universal wreckage of that explosion, being consigned to foraging among the same debris, to make his or her way in the life that has been provided presumably out of such violent mayhem!

Logically, the hope of the unbeliever is limited only to the scope of that mayhem and the personal effort that has been permitted by it, whereas the hope of the believer soars into the heavens that he or she is willing to accept are those of the Lord God he or she worships and serves, which lie infinitely beyond the accident of nature to which the atheist or unbeliever chooses to limit his or her belief!

I am daily grieved by the television productions that fail to give honor, praise and glory to the Lord God whom I believe is providing all the technological and dramatic genius that is making those productions possible and whom I believe thrives upon that worship; because the words in his Holy Bible say that he does!

At the same time I am fascinated in observing that, with or without such credit's being given to God as the source of all things, the world's productions for viewing succeed only to the degree that they are accepted and supported by one of two kinds of people - either those who are committed to good or those who are committed to evil, exactly as Yehovaw's Holy Bible says!

"Good people" fall into two camps, the righteous, who behave rightly because they worship and serve a good God, and the good, who behave rightly merely because they have found right conduct to be advantageous to them.

The righteous enjoy the supernatural rewards of the God who attributes His righteousness to them who obey His commandments, whereas the good, who are behaving rightly only because they have found such conduct to be advantageous, may as well be atheists; because their rewards, also, are limited only to what they can achieve through their own efforts, without the supernatural rewards of a magnificently loving Lord God, who loves to lavish His goodness upon the obedient among His children!

The reason for that limitation upon good behavior is that good behavior without acknowledging and loving the God who is the Source of all goodness is without the obedience to His "first and great commandment" (Matthew 22:38), which is to love Him (Verse 37), upon which, together with loving one's neighbor (Verse 39) "hang all the law and the prophets"! And obedience to the commandments of that toraw or law is the basis upon which "all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee". (Deuteronomy 28:2)

The wicked, also, fall into two camps, the wicked who behave wickedly because they consciously worship and serve a devil and the wicked who behave wickedly merely because they have by some perverted understanding found wicked conduct to be, if not advantageous to them, at least pleasurable! The apostle Paul wrote:

¹¹For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, ¹²that they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness! (2nd Thessalonians 2:11 and 12)

I do not believe that the Lord God whom I worship and serve, about whom the remainder of his Holy Bible testifies, sends any such thing upon anybody! But Paul did rightly associate damnation with one's "pleasure in unrighteousness"! (2nd Thessalonians 2:12)

Severly limited as they are, the good people who behave rightly merely because they have found right conduct to be advantageous to them, enjoy greater or lesser advantage in life to the degree that their trust and hope lies in certain others or, God forbid, trust and hope only in themselves!

Necessarily, the righteous who consciously worship and serve a God whom they believe rewards them for their righteousness are responding to the voice and the book of that God, in which He has clearly set forth His requirements for one's being rewarded! And only such believers as these can hope to enjoy such rewards, which supernaturally go far beyond the rewards of any one's personal endeavors, including Yehovaw's accepting the obedient into His kingdom of Heaven, where one enjoys eternal life in Yehovaw's magnificent presence!

Yehovaw's book is the Holy Bible, the truth of which people attempt to prove by archeological diggings, the records unearthed by them and fulfilled prophecies! But, as much as I have enjoyed reading about such things or watching them on television, my attention has never been captured by such efforts, my personal joy having been based upon the life of Yehovaw that I have experienced daily as a believer!

Until it is overwhelmed by contrary ideas, mankind has the inherent belief in the necessity and fact of an almighty Creator and Sustainer of all things! And that being true, we naturally desire to communicate with Him, which He has lovingly accommodated by giving us His Holy Spirit, Who speaks to us as the voice of our conscience!

Yehovaw has also given His children His Holy Bible, in which He lets them know how to find their way back into hearing His voice, to please Him and thereby be rewarded by Him.

Conversely, Yehovaw informs His children, through His Holy Bible, of how He punishes those who have chosen to walk contrary to Him and to the goodness of His being!

Young children are naturally trusting or believing! They have experienced nothing to cause them not to trust another; so failure to believe is, actually, a condition of one's heart, which he or she has learned by having been betrayed!

My Bible, which is the Holy Bible as it was translated into English by scholars of king James in England, calls the Lord God whom I worship and serve "Yehovaw", which in the Old Testament is the Hebrew name underlying most of that English translation's scripture using the word "Lord"! (Strong: Hebrew: 3068)

The child of Yehovaw whom He considers to be "the believing child" believes in Him, who is the Lord God Who created him or her and is sustaining the life He gave to him or her along with the living universe and the planet on which He has put him or her! All of His children begin their life on Earth as "one of these little ones who believe in Me"! (Matthew 18:6) He spoke, through Yehoshua, of sheep who have "gone astray" (Verse 12), which implies sheep who have not yet gone astray.

Those who have "gone astray" (Matthew 18:12) are children who have been betrayed! And their lives have become the process of finding a reason to believe again! And through the voice of His Spirit in their hearts, through His Holy Bible and through the servants of His who share the words of that Bible with all who will listen Yehovaw has worked, diligently, to help them believe again, ever since He created Adam and Eve and put them in the Garden of Eden!
