As for "Yehovaw's Giving", He has built, into His perfect economy, a marvelous rule, which He expressed through Yehoshua:

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom! For with the same measure that ye mete it shall be measured to you again! (Luke 6:38)

That is Yehovaw how works! And, when one receives, from ha Kodesh Ruakh, His Holy Spirit of truth, the full significance of that rule, an amazing truth emerges - specirically, that to give financial help to Yehovaw's servants, whose calling is to do His will with the greatest possible understanding from out of His Holy Bible and from His direction through the guidance of His voice or spirit in their hearts, what they do with that help can be counted upon to do the most good! And, when one has done "the most good", the blessing is the greatest from out of that giving; and the return for that greatest form of giving is guaranteed to be the greatest!

When Yehoshua was in Yehovaw's temple watching people giving into its treasury, He watched as "there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites" (Mark 12:42) And He said:

⁴³Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they who have cast into the treasury! ⁴⁴For all they did cast in of their abundance! But she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living! (Mark 12:43 and 44)

That is how Yehovaw works! He acknowledges greatness, by how much sacrifice is involved in one's giving; and, again, returning to His amazing rule, if one gives sacrificially, people will give "into your bosom" (Luke 6:38) sacrificially; and that is a blessing guaranteed by the word of Yehovaw, the Creator and Lord God over all the universe, through Yehoshua, Who is Yehovaw "the Word"! (John 1:1)

So, when a servant of Yehovaw makes a plea for a "worthy cause", which he has judged to be worthy by his understanding of Yehovaw's will in the matter, one can respond, to that plea, with reasonable assurance that his or her gift to that cause will be used to the utmost advantage, which guarantees the utmost return!

Is that selfish?

You bet! We do these recommended things, knowing that in doing them is where Yehovaw's blessing lies; and who does not want that?
