The full title of this page, "52314320 Miracles", includes its catalog number, which shows where I have placed it among the many fascinating topics I have arranged in the Table of Contents of this website's amazing Vault!

As for "Miracles", they of course are happenings not easily explained! The Merriam/Webster online dictionary defines "miracle" as "an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs"!

Another definition I might give, to miracles, is that they defy explanation by natural means!

Yehovaw's prophets accasionally did things that qualified as miracles; but, when He sent Yehoshua to Earth, to walk among and teach their people, He outdid them all, feeding multitudes, stilling angry waves, healing, raising the dead and casting out devils! And of course His greatest miracle was in raising Himself from the dead and showing Himself as a gloriously resurrected man! He said:

Therefore doth my Father love Me; because I lay down My life, that I might take it again! No man taketh it from Me; but I lay it down of Myself! I have power to lay it down; and I have power to take it again! (John 10:17 and 18)

As is true of all things done by a Person of the Godhead, there was a reason for Yehoshua's amazing the children of Israel with His miracles; Yehovaw said, through Yehoshua

Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very works' sake. (John 14:11)

Yehovaw knew the difficulty of His children to believe His words; so He had His prophets, whose job it was to speak His words, perform miracles, occasionally, to cause people to suppose that they had His backing in what they were telling the people; and, when He sent Yehoshua to speak His words (Deuteronomy 18:18), as His "express image" (Hebrews 1:3), the need was the same; and the miracles that Yehoshua performed were impressive!

Then, interestingly, immediately after saying what I quoted above (John 14:11), Yehovaw made, through Yehoshua, an astounding statement! He said, through Yehoshua:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He who believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father! (John 14:12)

¹⁷These signs shall follow them who believe: In My name shall they cast out devils! They shall speak with new tongues! ¹⁸... if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick; and they shall recover! (Mark 16:17 and 18)

Again looking for the reason behind one of Yehovaw's moves through Yehoshua, "rightly dividing the word of truth" (2nd Timothy 2:15) gives us the benefit of other things Yehovaw said through Yehoshua, that help us to understand that reason:

When Yehoshua had been crucified and then rose again, He appeared to His disciples; and the first thing He said was:

Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you! John 18:21

Yehovaw sent Yehoshua doing signs and wonders! Yehoshua said:

The Father loveth the Son and showeth Him all things that Himself doeth! And He will shew Him greater works than these, that ye may marvel! John 5:20

Not only did Yehoshua make the children of Israel marvel (John 5:20), telling them that the believers among them will do the same works (John 14:12), He also told them how to do them, saying,

Whosoever shall say, unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things that he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith! Mark 11:23

At this point, it is extremely important to observe that speaking to a mountain to have it removed and cast into the sea has nothing whatsoever to do with whether the one saying those words is righteous, wicked or any shade inbetween! It has only to do with his believing "that those things that he saith shall come to pass"! (Mark 11:23), in which case "he shall have whatsoever he saith"! (Verse 23)

So, right, wrong or indifferent, anyone using the human dominion "over every living thing that moveth upon the Earth"(Genesis 1:28), which is what speaking to a mountain is all about (Mark 11:23), can enjoy impressive results, for good or evil!

So Satan has guided his servants to use the human dominion as well as Yehoshua and for a similar reason - namely, to impress others with the authority that is implied by miracles but is not true beyond the authority that Yehovaw gave all humanity to speak to whatever on Earth and expect to "have whatsoever he saith"! (Mark 11:23)

Beyond that point, the similarity disappears and a very different purpose emerges: for Satan's miracle worker is the last person on Earth to hint that keeping the commandments of Yehovaw's toraw is a wise thing to do, if one desires to have "all these blessings ... come on thee and overtake thee". (Deuteronomy 28:2)

Instead, having got the attention of his audience, Satan's miracle worker will teach them everything under the sun other than to obey Yehovaw's toraw, knowing perfectly well that depriving them of that knowledge is also depriving them of His toraw's "life"! (Deuteronomy 32:47; Matthew 19:17) Yehovaw wrote, through His prophet:

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge! Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children! Hosea 4:6

All of the above's being the terrible result of being impressed by the wrong kind of miracle-worker, Yehovaw issued a stern warning in regard to anyone's use of the human dominion; He said, through Yehoshua:

²¹Not every one who saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven but he who doeth the will of My Father Who is in Heaven! (Matthew 7:21)

²²Many will say, to Me, in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? ²³And then will I profess, unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! (Matthew 7:22 and 23)

There shall arise false Christs and false prophets and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect! (Matthew 24:24)

Notice, please, that the great deception Yehovaw knew was coming would be based upon "great signs and wonders" (Matthew 24:24) And I have watched that attractive falsehood be miraculously advanced to an extraordinary degree, as the days have gone by, ever since Yehovaw brought me into obedience to Him through a "charismatic" or healing ministry!

For the apostolic ministries are the most notorious users of miracles to establish their presumed "authority under God" while teaching their followers that they are Gentiles, that Yehovaw's toraw or law is therefore not applicable to them and that their simply believing, after the apostle Paul's formula (Romans 10:9 and 10), that Yehoshua rose again and their being baptized in water (Acts 2:38) is all they need to be "saved"!

But Yehovaw's final commandment through Yehoshua, to His disciples was:

¹⁹Go ... and teach all nations ... ²⁰ ... to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19 and 20)

All nations (Matthew 28:19) means "Gentiles" (Strong: Greek: 1484); and they were to be taught "to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you" (Verse 20), which has to include His toraw! Yehovaw said, through Yehoshua

²The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat; ³All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do! (Matthew 23:2 and 3)

⁴⁶Had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed Me! For he wrote of Me. ⁴⁷But, if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe My words? (John 5:46 and 47)

But what did the apostles in Jerusalem do? They wrote, "unto the brethren who are of the Gentiles" (Acts 15:23):

We have heard that certain who went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised and keep the law, to whom we gave no such commandment! (Acts 15:24)

Satan's greatest lie was to deceive "if it were possible ... the very elect"! (Matthew 24:24) What could be more deceptive than miracle working apostles recorded in Yehovaw's Holy Bible countermanding His words through Moses and Yehoshua?

To understand the reason why it is so important to keep or put the highest possible value on the commandments of Yehovaw's toraw, one needs to go clear back to where He dealt with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden!
